We recognise it's hard to find and retain talented people. What makes Smith&Smith® unique is our team members, the passion they have for our customers and the support they provide each other. In return for their commitment, we provide ongoing professional and personal training, development and a range of exciting employment benefits!
We believe the wellbeing of our people is important, so we have developed a Wellbeing Fund to help our team members do something just for them! Smith&Smith®offer up to $100 net, per year for all permanent team members to assist financially and make a difference to our everyday lives.
Reward and Recognition
Our REACH programme is designed to recognise and reward team members who strive to go "above and beyond" and in doing so live our vision, mission and values of Customer Delight, Safety, Quality, Integrity and Teamwork. Our people are actively recognised through manager ovations, customer compliments, monthly awards, competitions and even by their peers through "Ka Pai" Cards.
Training and Development
At Smith&Smith® we invest heavily in our people. We aim to provide you with the training and development you need to help you reach your full potential. All our new team members start their journey with a formal centralised induction programme giving you an overview of our business and how we do things around here. Depending on which path you wish to take whether it be Technical, Supply Chain, Branch Management, Customer Services, or even our Customer Contact Centre, the options beyond there are endless! We have a range of programmes such as our High Performers in our Customer Contact Centre and our Belron 'Way of Coaching' for Leaders. Being part of the Belron group also gives us access to international best fitting processes, plus state of the art tooling and equipment.
NZQA Certificate in Automotive Reglazing
Our Technicians have the opportunity to complete an NZQA Certificate in Automotive Reglazing. This is financially supported by Smith&Smith® and run through our dedicated National Technical Training Team.
Tools of trade
We provide all our team members with industry leading tools and equipment. For those that need access to a vehicle as a tool of trade we provide this also!
Succession Planning and Promotions
We keep in touch with our team members on a regular basis to assess their skills, experience and aspirations. Succession plans are regularly put in place to help get our people to where they want to be. Our company structure allows room for plenty of growth and we recognise that opportunities may exist in other regions so transfers are always a possibility.
We also communicate our fantastic internal opportunities weekly to allow our team members to apply for different roles or different locations. We actively promote transfers across the region and can also assist with international transfers within the Belron group.
Life & Health Insurance
Just as our people are important to us, so are their families! Our Carglass Life Insurance Plan provides your estate with a lump sum equal to 52 weeks x Hourly rate x Contracted hours to minimise any financial burdens. Our Southern Cross work scheme also entitles team members to reduced Health Insurance premiums.
Smith&Smith® recognises the dedication, loyalty and commitment of all of our team members. Team members who reach 3 or more years of continuous service are eligible for our Dedication Award Recognition programme.
Best of Belron
Every 2 years, our top technicians compete for the title of Best of New Zealand - a prestigious technical award. The winner advances to challenge the wider, international Belron group winners in the Best of Belron Competition, held in various locations around the world.
Friends and Family Discounts
Our team members are able to offer their friends and family members discounts on our products and services.
Our people are our best advocates so we reward our people who refer new team members that are successfully placed into roles within our business.
Community Involvement and Corporate Responsibility
At Smith&Smith® we believe in "giving back" through contributing to our national and local communities. We allow team members to take paid leave to provide support to their chosen community group or charity. As a company we also undertake various fundraising and support initiatives for our chosen charity - The Salvation Army.
